Privacy policy

Free document generators process what you enter in your browser. The signed-in workspace stores the records you choose to save.

What the tools do with your data

The free generators assemble invoices, receipts and other documents in your browser, and the PDF is saved to your device. The signed-in workspace is different, as explained below. Details you enter in the free generators are saved in this browser's local storage so the next document is quicker to make. Clearing your browser data removes those local details.

What the site collects

We do not run a separate analytics product on the generator pages. Advertising providers and our web host may process normal request information such as your IP address. If you use the workspace, the account data described below is stored on our server.

The workspace, if you sign in

The workspace stores records you choose to save on our server. If you create an account, we hold your email address, your business details, and the customers, documents, payments, expenses and time entries you enter. Contact us about deletion; some records may need to be retained as described below.

We sign you in with a link sent to your email address, so there is no password of yours for us to lose. Sessions are stored as a hash: a copy of our database does not let anybody sign in as you.

Your customers' details are yours, not ours. We do not sell them, do not use them to advertise, and do not read them except when you ask us to fix something and we need to look. One business cannot see another's records; that boundary is enforced in the database, not by a setting.

Service providers process data needed to deliver parts of the workspace. Paddle handles subscription payments. Our email provider delivers sign-in links, invoices and reminders and therefore receives the destination address and message. If you turn on receipt scanning, the receipt image is sent to our document-reading service for text extraction. Advertising is described separately below.

Contact us through the contact page to ask about access to, correction of, export of or deletion of your workspace data. We will explain any records we must retain for legal or operational reasons.

Advertising

The site includes Google AdSense code. If ads are served, Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technology and may infer your approximate location from your IP address. Ad requests do not include the contents of a document you are making in a free generator. Review Google's partner-site information; where a consent message appears, use its options, or use your browser's site-data controls.

Children

This is a tool for business paperwork and is not directed at children under 13.

Your rights

Where applicable privacy law gives you rights over data we hold, contact us through the contact page to request access, correction or deletion of workspace information. Advertising-data choices are also available through Google's controls. Some requests may be subject to legal retention requirements.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the change will be described here rather than quietly folded into a new version.
